Membership is open to individuals who have “a genuine interest in the science of human and/or animal nutrition” and support NSNZ’s aim of “advancing the scientific study of nutrition and its applications to optimising the health and well-being of humans and animals”.
Benefits of membership include:
 

• Copies of NSNZ newsletter (usually published 4 times a year), which includes information about NSNZ, nutrition news, information from associated organisations, job vacancies, notice of forthcoming meetings and conferences, other topics of interest to members.
• Regular email updates about topics of interest to nutritionists.
• Personal copy of the annual Proceedings of the Nutrition Society of New Zealand.
• Access to the members only page on the website (which has pdf files of the Proceedings).
• Eligibility to apply for student travel grants to attend NSNZ’s annual scientific meeting
• Reduced registration fees at scientific meetings organised by NSNZ
• Opportunity to present original communications at the NSNZ’s annual scientific meeting (abstracts of the communications and full-papers of selected communications are published in the Proceedings of the Nutrition Society).

 
Applications for full membership require NSNZ members to propose and second the application.
There are 2 classes of membership: full-membership and student membership.
